Digitization of forestry brings major rationalization and efficiency gains while achieving many social and environmental benefits for society: countering illegal logging, reducing the risk of money laundering and increasing the value of the harvested forest (more profitable products and less waste).

The project will result in the development of a first version of a fully digitized system for the New Zealand forestry industry, the world’s second largest roundwood exporter ­­– based on today’s developed prototypes.

The system can then be easily adapted to all conceivable forestry applications worldwide. The project lays the foundation for a possible global standard in the field.
